Paraxanthine

Will ND ever offer this? I’ve seen this asked before but never seen a response. For a while it was only available in certain premixed products but is now available by itself in capsules but would obviously prefer to buy from ND.
On that note, curious if any ND folks have ever tried it. (As a standalone or otherwise) Also curious to hear any thoughts on its mechanisms from people who can understand all of that better than myself.

I think the key is the half-life. It may keep you awake better during the duration, but the half-life being shorter means it’s theoretically easier to fall asleep after having had the Paraxanthine later in the day. I’m at work so I can’t actually look at the details though. I could be misconstruing. I’d recommend giving it a try though. I’m a longtime caffeine fan and I’ve enjoyed it in the products I’ve tried with it. My pure paraxanthine pills came in today and I’ll be giving it a shot in isolation.

Yes, it seems very cool based on the studies I have seen. Here is another cool one.

I agree with you that you can't just rely on studies. You have to actually take things to really know how they affect you. I've tried more shit than probably 99.9% of the people on this planet. Countless times I have found the subjective effects of a compound to either not correlate with the available scientific research, or give completely the opposite effect. I think a big reason for that is that scientists are not bioassaying the things they study themselves. If everyone was more like Alexander Shulgin, and actually tried the things they study, they could actually get a feel for the compounds they are writing about. As it stands, most of the published scientific studies are from people who have not taken anything before. They write papers for the sake of writing papers and getting published, not because they are passionate about experiencing unique chemicals and how they affect the body. We have discovered so many unique compounds and mechanisms just by trying things and feeling how they affected us. I take an extract that I think will feel one way based on the available science, and I get a totally different effect. That sends me down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out what compound and mechanism caused it, which leads me down more rabbit holes. There is no way I could do any of that without bioassaying things myself. I'll definitely give paraxanthine a go.
