What magnesium dosage has NMDA antagonist effects?

magnesium has weak NMDA antagonist effects, which work by blocking the glutamate binding site, causing an indirect downregulation
Im wondering what's the optimal dosage for this in pill form?
I already get 400mg from my diet

I recently wrote about magnesium's NMDA effects, and made some images to make it easier to understand.
Magnesium doesn't block the glutamate binding site. It sits in the ion channel itself and blocks it. It's how the NMDA channel functions properly, and why magnesium deficiency leads to excitotoxicity. You need enough magnesium in your body for your AMPA and NMDA channels to properly function, otherwise they are open all the time, resulting in too much calcium entering your cells.
