First impressions of ND’s Supercritical Myrrh Extract

After seeing myrrh confirmed as one of the next releases, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the liquid extract and get a feel for it’s effect on pain—especially with topical application.

To keep it brief, here are my personal observations and comments:
- Taste: A member of the team mentioned that it tasted like ‘spicy cardboard.’ This is accurate—but not bad at all! I found it rather inoffensive, and actually quite easy to hold in my mouth for a few minutes (but no warming or numbing—more on that later.)
- Smell: Scent is in line with taste. I don’t see too many people being as off put compared to the coriander (although I personally enjoy that one, too.)
- Ingested effects (0.5ml): Within about 5 minutes, I felt light ‘warmth’ across my body with light mood modulating effects (calming.) I have cholinergic urticaria (painful hives in response to sweating) that I hoped myrrh might help either topically or being ingested. I didn’t notice any relief after multiple bouts around 20 minutes after ingestion, but the effect on mood was welcome.
