Huge taxes

Hey everyone,
So I am a big customer from Europe and usually buy for 350-500$at a time. The taxes usually hit for 25-35$, which is understandable.
Today I got hit with a 145$ tax request for a order not even bigger than my last, which costed me 27$.
Have they screwed up or is there any new laws? Also, do you get all your money back if you let it return to sender?

It depends on when you ordered last. The EU recently changed laws this year regarding import duties and taxes. That doesn't mean they didn't make a mistake in your specific case, as they sometimes can, but the EU did make changes this year that have affected things.
