I feel like the term 'nootropics' was bit of a fad about 7 or 8 years ago and a lot of people have moved on from looking for the equivalent of that pill from the limitless movie. Plus i think a lot people negatively associate it with youngs dudes really into IT and research drugs. Regardless of the name, great company though.

LOL, yes and no. I didn't name it Nootropics Depot. I never would have named it that myself. Building a brand with its own identity separate from a specific market is always a better idea. That's why I called my initial brand Ceretropic. It hinted at nootropics without tying it to it. That's what I prefer: a unique name that hints at an identity, but doesn't shoehorn itself into a corner.
I actually did not found Nootropics Depot. They launched around the same time I launched Ceretropic, and they just happened to be on the other side of Phoenix from me. When the owner of that company decided to get out of nootropics for risk reasons, I bought it and took it over. This was in 2015. We took over the Nootropics Depot brand, and my team from Ceretropic started operating it. After a while we started to have issues with Ceretropic because of legal and risk reasons, due to the more advanced part of the market we were in, so we shifted to Nootropics Depot as our main brand. By that point the Nootropics Depot name was too well known for me to change it, so we kept it. If I could turn back time, I would probably have rebranded ND when we relaunched it. However, most people don't realize how difficult it is to build a brand. Hell, it took years for people to even associate Nootropics Depot with Ceretropic, even though they knew me here on Reddit and regularly interacted with me. There are still people to this day that don't realize the relationship between Ceretropic and Nootropics Depot, or the story of the team behind the brands. Now Nootropics Depot is too well-known of a brand to do anything about it. In fact, "Nootropics Depot" is the second most searched term around nootropics. The first being the standalone "nootropics" keyword. That's nuts. In a couple years, there will be more people searching for "Nootropics Depot" than for "nootropics." Changing the name now would be a big mistake, even if I would prefer a more generic and unique branding.
