Question about import/duties fees (Canada)

Hey there,
I'm not very experienced with these sorts of things so forgive me if its basic information.

I recently bought the new epicatechin 25g (just this one item) from ND and used DHL Express (as I do with most ND orders) and got a message from them to pay for the import charges (31 CAD) . I've bought quite a bit of stuff (Ash, Tongkat, Smart PS etc) usually between 2-3 products in one shipment and have never been charged with any duties or taxes before, even with other services (iHerb for Yohimbine as an example).
