Would Immune Defense be effective for helping the body fight off bacterial infections?

What they were answering

Awesome, I’ll definitely start taking some. Follow up question: should I worry about the fact that clindamycin doesn’t kill gram-negative bacteria? And do you think by me taking a few doses of my antibiotic about 2-4 hours late is anything to worry about? I mean I definitely think if it was a once-a-day antibiotic, then it would be, but because clindamycin is taken multiple times a day, it shouldn’t have too much of an effect, should it?, as there would likely still be some clindamycin in my bloodstream from my last dose, even if it’s 12 hours later and not 8..?

I don't really want to second-guess your doctor. I would assume they prescribed that for a reason; at least I would hope so. They are likely worried about Staphylococcus aureus primarily, as that is the one to watch out for after surgical wounds in a hospital. Staphylococcus aureus is a gram-positive bacteria. Also, taking a broad-spectrum antibiotic messes with your system a lot more than something like clindamycin. So if you don't absolutely need to take one, I would avoid it.

And do you think by me taking a few doses of my antibiotic about 2-4 hours late is anything to worry about?

No, that's fine. Just make sure you finish your entire round.

You will reach steady-state plasma levels after around 3 doses. Sure, it might drop a bit if you are a few hours late, but not by a massive amount. The real thing you want to avoid is going on/off, then not finishing the course, as that can cause antibiotic-resistance to increase.
