Question about customs

Hi there, I'm loving the products from NootropicsDepot but had a huge delay because it was sitting at customs. When it arrived I had to pay a clearance of 17 EUR which was strange to me. I never had to pay customs for NootropicsDepot orders before.
The customs declaration said the product had a value of 40 USD so it wouldn't be imported without paying a fee. It makes the products a lot more expensive imo and I'm wondering if you could do something about this?
I'm in the Netherlands btw

Ok I'm looking right now at the papers, what was declared by ND is what I exactly paid ; ~171$.
I paid another 43$ for fedex express as I wanted to get the stuff fast enough in this COVID-19 馃悎 astrophy !
-On the fedex invoice stating the tax I owe they stated as follow ; ( some things I translated literally )
- Tax & customes : ~29.35 USD.
- (something which translates to) "cancellation fee" : 2.62 USD.
- handling fee : ~32.16 USD.
- (something that translates to) "computer fee" : ~5.05 USD.

Okay, then your order was in the 1-2 week period where we were declaring actual values. That would make sense. We initially were told to itemize and declare full value, which is why it came that way. Then we determined that we could still get them to clear with the lower value, as long as we itemized them separately. So we switched back to the lower value. So hopefully that should not be as much of an issue now. The other fees are strange, though. Can you PM a picture of it all, so I can have my team ask our rep to look into it?
