Thoughts on offering Mucuna Pruriens?

In my few experiences with it at a 15% extract, it has proved to be a powerful nootropic. There is some concern that it could be dangerous/unhealthy, but nobody on r/nootropics seem to be able to offer evidence based arguments for or against it. Moreover, much of the evidence people point to are studies done on pure L-dopa, which mucuna is not.
So, has ND considered offering a mucuna extract or even just the raw powder? Or are the potential concerns too much?
Thanks in advance!

That’s one I haven’t heard yet! Most of the things I hear claim that it down-regulates tyrosine hydroxylase. At any rate, I definitely agree that it’s not a daily use kind of deal. Is there anyway to mitigate the quinone issues?

The tyrosine hydroxylase thing is the main issue, but not dangerous. It can just screw up the balance of serotonin and dopamine, like 5-HTP can. The quinone thing is the more damaging one. I can look into the mechanisms a bit, and see if there might be a way to mitigate them.
