Is 1000 mg of Curcumin per day too much?

I just read this subreddit post in /supplements about curcumin. It looks like over 500 mg might be sometimes toxic when combined with piperine. https://www.reddit.com/r/Supplements/comments/8hihap/any\_views\_on\_this\_the\_dark\_side\_of\_curcumin/
I got some 1000 mg curcumin with piperine from ND. I think it may have caused pain in my liver, so I wonder if anyone else has had this experience. The piperine may be to blame since I am taking other drugs and supplements and I don't know if it interacts with those. Piperine can affect the metabolism of other substances according to the article referenced (1).
Also, what should I do with the 1000 mg capsules to make it less than 500 mg and safer?

Well our capsules are 500mg. A 1,000mg dose is two capsules. So just take one capsule if you prefer that. Regarding dose, no 1,000mg per day is not too much fir most people. Some studies have used up to 12 grams a day with Bioperine, and did not report any adverse effects.
This is a very comprehensive meta analysis on curcumin: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3535097/
However, there is always the chance that you react poorly to it. It could also be the piperine interacting with other things you are taking. You could move to Longvida if you wanted to avoid the piperine. That's what I usually use.
