wtf is up with the shipping?

Why is the cheapest shipping option they offer priority usps? That means I'm paying $9 to ship my $5 order like 300 miles. All I need is USPS first class. Am I missing something here?

We used to offer USPS first class, but then USPS changed their policies about reusing tracking codes and changed their service assurances, and the quality just fell off a cliff. We had orders for New York going to Oregon. We had tracking numbers show up as delivered 6 months before we even shipped the product. We had so many orders lost, and nothing but a "Sorry, better luck next time." from USPS. It just got too much to handle, and we were getting bad reviews because of things outside of our control. So we made the decision to only use priority as the lowest option on the site.
Our USPS priority shipping is free if you spend $50 or more, though. So we still give you free shipping when the order total makes sense for us to not lose money on it. Also, a lot of our stuff is on our Amazon store as well. So if you are buying single products, our Amazon store would be cheaper.
