Tax collected on shipping?

I noticed nootropicsdepot collects tax on shipping. I didn’t think Arizona law allowed tax to be collected on shipping when it is shown separately, which it is. Can somebody clarify this for me? Does this refer to only brick and mortar stores?

Very interesting! Thanks for the reply. I’ve always wondered why it’s so varied between states/municipalities. It’s crazy you have to actually mail certain states checks every month

Yeah, it sucks. It was a big deal for us to have to get implemented. Suddenly overnight we had to start not just learning the tax laws of other states, but implementing them. Some states backdated their laws to the day of the Supreme Court ruling, too! I didn't think you could do that, but they did... So overnight the Supreme Court changed 40 years of tax law in the United States, and it was left up to the private companies to sort it out. Totally bullshit when you think about it. We also have to keep monitoring if other states have passed their nexus laws yet, since we are legally required to comply with them now. So the states that we don't currently have to collect for, we still have to monitor if they change their law, then calculate if we have nexus there.
